What we promise, and what we won't
Placement claims without denominators are marketing. Here is exactly how hiring works at SaaSFarers Academy, including the parts that are not guaranteed.
Committed, in writing
- An internship on live client work for every learner who meets the mid-point assessment bar
- A written reference from the engineer who supervised you
- Deployed projects and a public repository history you own
- Mock interviews, system design practice and portfolio review
- Direct consideration for open roles at SaaSFarers before we advertise them
- Introductions to companies in our network where there is a genuine fit
Said plainly
- A guaranteed job. Nobody can honestly guarantee one, and the guarantees that exist are hedged into meaninglessness
- A particular salary. The market decides that, and it varies by city, role and your own performance
- Employment at SaaSFarers. We hire the strongest learners, and there are only so many roles open at a time
- That effort alone is enough. Attendance is not achievement, and we will tell you early if you are not on track
The bar, published
This is the same rubric we use when hiring externally. You will be scored against it at the mid-point and at the end, and you will see your scores.
Technical execution
Does the code work, is it tested, is it readable, and does it handle the cases that are not the happy path?
Judgement
Can you scope a problem, choose between approaches, and explain the trade-off you accepted and why?
Communication
Can you write a clear design note, ask a good question early, and disagree with a reviewer productively?
Reliability
Do you finish what you start, flag slippage before the deadline, and leave things in a state someone else can pick up?
Learning rate
How quickly do you absorb review feedback, and does the same correction have to be made twice?
Ownership
When something breaks in your area, do you go and look, or wait to be asked?
Prepared for real interviews, not quiz rounds
The last weeks of every track are spent turning what you built into what you can say.
- 01Project narrative
Turning each project into a two-minute story: the problem, the constraint, your decision, the outcome.
- 02Technical interviews
Practice rounds with working engineers, recorded, with specific written feedback rather than a score.
- 03System design
Design conversations pitched at the level you will actually face as a junior or mid-level candidate.
- 04Portfolio and CV
A readable repository, a real README, and a CV that says what you did rather than what you were exposed to.
Come and be assessed against a real bar.
The most useful thing we give you is not a certificate. It is an honest, specific answer to the question of how close you are, and exactly what to do about it.
