Every team needs someone who can make the deployment repeatable, the alerts meaningful and the backup restorable. It is a fast route into the industry because the skills are concrete and testable, and because far too few people have them.
What you will be able to do
- Operate Linux servers and containers with confidence
- Build CI/CD pipelines with tests, staged rollout and rollback
- Provision infrastructure as code, reproducibly, across environments
- Instrument systems with logs, metrics, traces and useful alerts
- Run an incident from alert to post-incident review
- Reduce cloud spend without reducing reliability
Entry expectations
If you are close but not quite there, tell us at application. We would rather get you ready than turn you away.
- 01Comfort with the command line
- 02Basic networking concepts
- 03Any programming or scripting experience
The route, module by module
8 modules over 10 weeks. Every one ends in something deployed to a real URL and reviewed line by line.
- Processes, permissions, systemd, storage, DNS, TLS, and reading logs when something is wrong
- Images, layers, registries, compose, and the container mistakes that cause production incidents
- Pipelines, test gates, artefacts, environments, staged deployment, feature flags and rollback
- Terraform, state management, modules, environment parity and drift detection
- Kubernetes fundamentals, deployments, services, ingress, config and secrets, autoscaling and resource limits
- Structured logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, SLOs, and alerting tuned so a page means something
- Backups and restore drills, disaster recovery, secrets management, patching, and least-privilege access
- Take an application from a laptop to a monitored, automated, recoverable production deployment
What you will have built
- 01A complete CI/CD pipeline with staged rollout and rollback
- 02Infrastructure as code for a multi-environment setup
- 03An observability stack with SLO-based alerting
- 04Capstone: a production deployment with a rehearsed disaster recovery drill
